Big and bold letters have been a massive hit in the last few years, and there won’t be any surprise if this trend continues this year as well.

Typography has been regarded as one of the most powerful ways to boost your brand and therefore, having big bold typography on your website will work like magic.

The reason behind that is, they are easy to read and understand for any user which will surely grab the attention of them.

If that’s the case, then there’s every chance that people will want to know more about your products or services, which increases your chances of creating conversions

People are very impatient when it comes to surfing the web. They need a quick solution to the problem they are facing.

According to a research, delay of 1 second in the website loading time can cost you up to 7% in the conversions, which is massive.!

This means when it comes to the speed of your website, every second is vital and therefore, solving the issues quickly related to site speed is mandatory.

Here are some of the free tools which can help you to know your page speed and troubleshoot the issues related to that:

Google PageSpeed Insights
Pingdom
GTmetrix
KeyCDN
Sucuri

[3.] Achievement Counter:-

In the earlier times, most of the business owners believed that people don’t like numbers and stats. But, that scenario has entirely changed in the recent times.

Today, people love numbers & facts and therefore, as a web designer, you should use it to your advantage by adding an achievement counter on your website.

Once the trust is established, the user will visit your website on a frequent basis which will help in giving the boost to the conversion rate.

[4.] Utilize The Negative Space:-

You may never have heard of this term in website design, but I tell you what, it is imperative.

The whitespace in the design which contains no elements is called as “Negative Space” in technical terms. It is not only space between larger but also space between your header & content or sidebar & content.

Despite the name “Negative Space”, it is a positive sign as it provides you with the opportunity to place something which attracts and engages the users.

You should always utilize this kind of space on your website to set up CTA (Call-To-Action) buttons which will increase your chance of inviting a conversion.

[5.] Consider Using F-Layout:-

Researchers have found out that user’s natural behavioral pattern of surfing a website is to read the whole screen in an “F” shape pattern.

As you can see in the figure that, the user first look from left to right on the screen. After that, they scan downwards, reading some of the content and at the end, they reach the bottom right corner of the web page.

This means the maximum attention span of the user is at the top of any web page. So, you can take the benefit of this fact by placing your main Call-To-Action (CTA) button along the “F” shaped frame.

You should also place the link of your latest blog on the left-hand side of the web page, as they could create a chance of conversion.

The least important information such as sponsored ads and cookie policy should be placed at the bottom-right of your web page.

[6.] Video Landing Page:-

A landing page is a standalone web page specifically designed to market your products or services effectively.

Until now, people are making the use of infographics and text in the landing pages to attract the visitors, but now is the time to go for the Video Landing Pages.

In fact, according to a recent survey, video landing pages can increase the conversion rate by 80%.

The reason for this kind of dramatic increase is that the video tells you the story about your brand which was not the case with static images. So, when a person watches a video, he/she gets emotionally attached to it, which creates an opportunity for conversion.

[7.] Remember To K.I.S.S:-

K.I.S.S. is an acronym for “Keep It Simple, Stupid.”

Simplicity is the most critical factor in driving the conversions for your website and therefore, it becomes vital that your web design is simple and sound.

Always ask yourself about how you can make your web design more straightforward, and you will find the ways for that.

The simple web design helps the user understand your website in a better way. He/she can move around the site with the utmost ease, which creates a great user experience.

When your UI/UX is excellent, then there is a maximum chance of converting, without a doubt.

Apple is one of the most significant examples of keeping the simple website design, and it’s been so effective that, many people follow this pattern.

As a rule of thumb, you have 8-seconds to grab the attention of your website visitors and the reason behind that is; it is the length of the human attention span.

You have a very tiny window of opportunity to convey your message to the user and therefore, doing it an effective manner becomes the need of the hour.

Here are some of the ways to grab the attention of the user in 8-seconds:

Use a large and catchy headline which benefits the user.
Use attractive images which divert the user towards your main CTA.
Make the signup buttons large and clear.
Give attention to every piece of content written on the site.
Incorporate multimedia like audio, video and infographics.
Use animated exit pop-ups.

  1. The best design always features a minimalist approach to the use of color. Many designers are tempted to use many different colors but using restraint should be a priority. You want to find the shades that perfectly match the content. Also, as you sparingly use colors, design remains classy.

After choosing colors that will represent brand design, you need to implement them in every single design stage so that the result has a streamlined feel and look. People associate meanings with colors so be sure you take that into account.

  2. Thanks, Abraham for your valuable suggestion regarding the web design. However, our blog focuses more on increasing the conversion rate and that’s why we have not taken the core design principles into consideration while writing this blog. 5. The tips for 8 sec rule are really good. Yeah the time to make an impressionis really very low so the design must ne so great that it catches the eye of the user. But the pop-ups? Isn’t pop-ups are annoying and ruins the experience?

  6. Thanks, Web Development Dubai for taking out the time from your busy schedule to read our article. We appreciate your effort. Coming to your question, we agree with you that pop-ups can be annoying for users.

However, we have talked here about animated pop-ups which give the user information about your website. So, if you can use that effectively, you can get an added advantage. Be careful about not overdoing it.

  7. These day’s it’s about focusing on engagement and not how pretty a website is. To me, a really beautiful website takes attention away from the call to actions. I want big pretty buttons that help me find the content I’m looking for. I want simple. If you want engagement you need to focus on simple. I have a website with a 0.23 bounce rate. That’s a fraction of one percent. We have 4 videos on our homepage that keep people engaged.

  8. Thank you, Jack, for taking out the time from your busy schedule and providing us with valuable feedback. We totally coincide with the points you’ve. Our blog is not focusing on web design. 9. Great list try to add some more technical features and possibilities to look on while creating a website platform for your business. When you are focusing on the online streaming business try to hire the best platform provider in the market for successful business sources. Some of the necessary features to be follow up while creating the media-based streaming website like hosting, CDN, security, payment integration, etc.

  10. I just came across this article and those same principles can still apply today. I always go back and forth with my design team about design vs conversion. Remembering the KISS principle is still a good idea.
