  1. I absolutely LOVE this. I grew up in an inner city housing project, and I didn’t know much about culvating good relationships nor did I have good role models for such. As I grew into adulthood, I began to realize the importance of this. I made many mistakes with friendships along the way, and I’ve had a lot of regrets. But the one thing I was determined to do, and was intentional about, was making sure my own children knew the importance of being a good friend and maintaining those relationships (through many of the things listed in this article). At 20 and 17, it’s been beautiful to see that they are still friends with many of their childhood friends and I believe that they truly understand the importance of this in their lives.
