All over the country, nonprofit organizations are finding ways to make their communities better. Nonprofit promotional items are used to help raise funds, build awareness and lend a helping hand.

Here are four stories about how organizations are using nonprofit promotional giveaways, acquired through a 4imprint® one by one® grant, to make their goals a reality. If you’re looking for inspiration, check out these heartwarming tales.

Sharing a love of music

Music 4 More has spent more than a decade sharing the gift of music with struggling schools and communities. The organization has given more than 850 recycled instruments, plus some new instruments, to students and schools in need. A sub-organization, Music 4 Vets, donates instruments to veterans and active military members for use in music therapy programs. The organization used a 4imprint one by one grant to purchase Rectangle Luggage Tags, which were attached to donated instruments to spread awareness of the program.

Caring for dogs and cats

Gateway Pet Guardians serves as an oasis in the “resource desert” of the East St. Louis area, where there are no veterinarians, big box stores or pet supply stores. Originally focused on feeding, rescuing and rehabilitating stray dogs and cats, their goals have expanded to help low-income pet owners care for their animals with food, spaying and neutering services, veterinary care and pet supplies. The organization used its one by one grant to acquire leashes similar to the Pet Leash. This nonprofit promotional giveaway was given to owners who might otherwise have to secure their pets with a string or cord due to lack of resources.

Making play possible

Since its founding in 2013, Share the Voice has given more than 190 adaptive tricycles to children of all ages in New York and New Jersey who, for a variety of reasons, can’t ride a bike. The organization uses every tricycle as an opportunity to connect with the recipient and their family. They unbox and assemble the trikes and present them to the child at their front door or at a community event organized by the group. The organization used its one by one grant to purchase coloring books to use as an educational aid when speaking at schools. Share the Voice also received wine totes, which they gave to donors at a sold-out wine-tasting fundraiser.

Finding fur-ever homes

Dogs Forever, an Adoption Guarantee shelter in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, uses an all-volunteer staff to feed, walk and look after the dogs in their care until they find their “fur”-ever home. Because they receive no local, state or federal funding, the organization gives out nonprofit promotional items, hosts fundraisers and attends multiple events every year to raise money and awareness for their group. At a Dock Dogs event, the organization used a one by one grant to provide sunglasses and sports bottles to people who visited their pop-up display, helping to keep both attendees and pets cool in the hundred degree heat.
